Manage Licenses Offline

The purchased SW-IV-SAM-3RDPARTYCAM Enablement Key can be managed offline via the USB-OFFLINE dongle as described in the following procedures.

notes:

  • A SW‑IV‑SAM‑3RDPARTYCAM Enablement Key within the XiO Cloud service cannot be converted to offline license. To switch the SW‑IV‑SAM‑3RDPARTYCAM Enablement Key from online to offline licensing mode, a new license must be purchased.

  • The USB‑OFFLINE dongle with the SW‑IV‑SAM‑3RDPARTYCAM Enablement Key must be connected to the IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P at all times. If the USB‑OFFLINE dongle is removed and supported third-party cameras are in the Room Configuration file, AutoSwitching will not start and an error message is displayed within Room Designer indicating that there is no SW‑IV‑SAM‑3RDPARTYCAM Enablement Key detected.

Each IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P that will utilize the SW‑IV‑SAM‑3RDPARTYCAM Enablement Key using offline licensing requires the purchase of one USB‑OFFLINE dongle. Once the SW‑IV‑SAM‑3RDPARTYCAM Enablement Key and the USB‑OFFLINE dongle have been purchased, the offline mode must be configured using Crestron Toolbox™ software.

To configure the SW‑IV‑SAM‑3RDPARTYCAM Enablement Key for offline licensing:

  1. Order one SW-IV-SAM-3RDPARTYCAM Enablement Key and one USB‑OFFLINE dongle per IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P system.

  2. Connect the USB‑OFFLINE dongle into an available USB port on the IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P.

  3. Open Crestron Toolbox software. For more information about Crestron Toolbox software, refer to the Crestron Toolbox Help File.

  4. Use the Device Discovery Tool to locate the IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P system on the network.

  5. Open the Text Console and connect to the IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P in Crestron Toolbox software.

  6. Input the following command into the Text Console:

  7. Restart the IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P.

  8. Once the IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P has completed the restart, reconnect the IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P to the Crestron Toolbox Text Console.

  9. Input the following command into the Text Console:

    Copy 
    AUTOMATE-VX>SYSTEMKey

    The IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P responds with the system key, which is required to access the SW‑IV-SAM‑3RDPARTYCAM Enablement Key.

  10. Fill out and submit the offline licensing form to request an offline license key from Crestron.

    The following information is required to request a SW‑IV-SAM‑3RDPARTYCAM Enablement Key:

    • The IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P system key (as outlined in step 9 of this procedure).

    • The IV-SAM-VX2-P Serial Number located on the unit.

    • The PO (Purchase Order) number or Crestron Order Number for the SW-IV-SAM-3RDPARTYCAM.

    Crestron will send the offline license key via email once the request has been processed.

  11. Open Text Console and connect to the IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P in the Crestron Toolbox software.

    note: Ensure that the USB-OFFLINE dongle is connected to the IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P system.

  12. Input the following command into the Text Console:

    AUTOMATE-VX>ADDLicense {Input License Key number here}

The SW‑IV‑SAM‑3RDPARTYCAM Enablement Key is now claimed to the IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P system.

To verify and view the SW‑IV‑SAM‑3RDPARTYCAM Enablement Key on the IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P, enter the following command into the Crestron Toolbox Text Console:

The IV‑SAM‑VX2‑P responds with the licensing status of the system.
